About Me

My name is Brett Hinton and I'm an Education Program Specialist for the Arizona Department of Education and am a passionate advocate for technology that enhances learning and makes teachers more effective. I also work with Remote-Learner.net on Moodle instructional support.

I am especially interested in technologies that enhance collaboration and personalization of the learning process. Right now that means an emphasis on things like using Moodle in the classroom to enhance collaboration and 24/7 learning opportunities, game-based learning, increasing technology resources in schools through thin-client technology (Edubuntu), and site-based, embedded technology staff development for teachers. I'm particularly fond of using Drupal and Moodle to aid in creating powerful learning networks.

I also have a wonderful wife, Amber, and 4 terrific kids, Nathan (6), Rebecca (4), and Jared (2), and Ben (1). They are what really make live worth living and technology/education add the extra spice for those rare moments where things get boring at my house.
